We had a great Christmas. Luckily with the weather, we had planned on staying home. We opened gifts on Christmas eve and had a prime rib dinner. Church service was cancelled due to the weather. Cydney was supposed to do a piano number, but she ended up doing it in church on Sunday. Christmas morning was stockings and Santa gifts. We had a good time just spending time together at home.

For the New Year we don't really have any resolutions. I probably won't get any better at keeping this up dated. As Damon gets mobile I'm sure I will have even less time to spend on the computer. But we do wish a safe, healthy, wonderful 2010 to all of our friends and family!

Finally...

We were finally blessed with Damon Justus Spady on October 14 at 9:11 pm. He weighed in at 6 pounds 10 ounces (smaller than we expected) and was 20 1/4 inches long. Cydney adores her baby brother and Miranda is very curious. I will get pictures posted soon when things slow down a little bit.

Still no baby

1 week and 1 day overdue, still no baby. He is growing daily and I am getting nervous. And I can't wait to meet him. Hopefully soon

Still waiting

Well, my due date came and went on the 5th. I am trying to be patient but I have been waiting 9 months to hold this baby boy. Apparently I have a very happy and cozy womb because Miranda didn't want to come out either. I have a doctors appt on friday and we will probably discuss how much longer I will wait. I really want to avoid an induction if I can, but I am getting so uncomfortable. I guess we will just wait and see

Long time

Sorry it has been a very long time since I have been able to make a post. They now block social networking sites at work so I have to find time to do it at home. Since my last post we have pretty much finished the addition. Carpet was put in about 2 weeks ago and we have been finishing up the final details-shower rods, touch up paint, etc. I can't wait to get moved it. The baby;'s furniture is ordered and should be here in early Sept. Once we get the nursery done I will definitely be ready to have this baby.

Summer has been busy with fair and other activities. Cydney did great in 4-H earning a lot of purple ribbons. She did especially well with her puppy. They got Grand Champion Novice obedience and Grand Champion in Agility. She also received a purple in showmanship. She was pretty excited to get a trophy. She also improved a lot in horse 4-H and received blue ribbons in halter and showmanship and received red ribbons in barerels, poles and western pleasure, her first year in all of those events. Sewing got all purples on a pair of PJs and a tie-dyed t-shirt. Her chocolate chip cookies also received a purple. She was sure glad when 4-H was over but sad to see school start.

She is a 4th grader this year and there are a lot of changes-lockers, changing classrooms all day, salad bar, not much recess. But I think she is adjusting just fine.

Still plugging away

We worked on the siding all weekend, working around the rain schedule. We only have about 1/3rd of the front of the house left to go (I will try to get pictures posted soon). The dry wallers are here and have the first coat of mud on. I am planning a painting party for the first weekend of June if anyone is interested. Trent should have all the priming done so all we have to do is the finish coat. No trim, outlets or carpet so it should be pretty easy.
Cydney left to go to her Mother's on Saturday evening. She will be gone for 5 weeks then she comes back just to leave again and go to 4-H camp. She is excited about overnight camp. I think she misses Miranda. She has called every day since she left.

Trent has been working hard on the addition. He had his electrical inspection last week and passed. He got the OK to go ahead and put up insultion and dry wall. We hadn't expected to do dry wall until June or so if wew were lucky but it looks like we should be ready for the dry wallers to come in another week or so. Trent got the duct work done last night and has most the insultion in upstairs. I think they are trying to organize a siding party for this weekend so the outside will show some progress. I can't wait to have it all done and move in. Hopefully by the end of the summer so we can get settled in before the baby comes. I am 18 weeks today. We go for an ultrasound in 2 weeks and we will find out the sex. I am dying to go shopping to get the nursery all outfitted.

Easter

Update

This is the latest, taken this morning. It is really going up fast. They are ready to put up the interior walls upstairs. They delivered the tub and showers. I was so tempted to sit in the tub. It will be so nice to have a bath tub I can soak in and not be sticking half way out.

Moving along

Our addition is really coming along. You can see the walls for the first floor and the floor joists for the second floor are up. Trent spent part of the weekend removing our overhang and facia. He also moved the flooring sheeting up on top. Good thing he is strong and tall.

The Addition

We are making progress on the addition to our house. The concrete guys showed up last monday and they now have all the concrete poured. Just waiting for it all to cure. And Spady's showed up yesterday and started on the framing. We should have the rough structure up in a few more weeks. The first picture is after Trent took down the 3 big trees on the north side of the house. We'll have to do some planting of trees, flowers, grass, etc. when we are all done. I'll try to get pictures up every once in a while so we can see the progress

Facebook

Today I started a facebook page to keep in touch with people. You can find almost anybody on there. Including people I don't want to find me.
We have been busy at home lately. We are adding on to our house and the cement guys have poured the footings and stem walls and were going to pour the garage floor and approach today (I think). Spady Construction will be doing the main construction of the exterior walls, roof and inner wall structures and floors and we will be doing the rest ourselves. We hope to have it done before we bring a baby home from the hospital. So our outlook for the summer looks like a lot of work and not much play. But it will be worth it. We will be adding a large 2 stall garage, a mud room, a master suite and a nursey with an additional bathroom. It will be so nice. I will finally have a bathtub that I can soak in!! that is the most exciting part for me.

We must be crazy?! We've added a puppy, we're adding on to the house and have a baby on the way, what were we thinking? Apparently we weren't.

Big News

We have big news in our house. I am pregnant, due in October! Just thought we'd share the news with everyone. We told Miranda first and she was really good at keeping the secret. Cyd seems excited about it.

We surprised Cydney with a new puppy. She is a Corgie and is about 8 weeks old. She sure is a handful, especially with a baby running around the house. We are working on potty training and teaching her what she can and cannot chew on. Cynedy has named her Izzy

Disney Trip

We had a great time in Orlando visiting Disney World. The weather was a bit cooler than we had expected, but still better than Nebraska. We were able to visit Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Animal Kingdom. Miranda's Birthday Party

Miranda's birthday party was a lot of fun. Aunt Candy made the cake and mints-Awesome job!! She wasn't sure what to do with the cake at first, but she caught on quickly and made an adequate mess. It was hard for me to just sit there and actually encourage her to get messy. She received lots of gifts and cards. She received a laughing tickle me Elmo doll, a vibrating tickle me Elmo chair, some clothes, including a sun dress all the way from Hawaii. She also received books and a cell phone and a back pack with supplies for her baby doll. She got a little fairy truck that sings to her and a hand held boom box that she can carry around and dance to and a couple of farm animal activity centers. We had a good time visitng with everyone that could make it.
